19/09/17 - 134m passenger cruise vessel sold and ready for new life at sea
Cruise ship M.V. Minerva was sold today and possibly going to refit for a private yatch.
In early 2012, the Minerva received a multimillion-pound, 83-day refit but in January 2017, her parent company Swan Hellenic went into administration and cancelled cruises on the Minerva until further notice.
Whilst the company was unable to comment about the future of the vessel, there is a good chance the vessel will be rebuilt or converted into a private or charter yacht
MV Minerva, as she is known, encompasses an impressive 12,892 GT and draws 6 metres below the waterline. If indeed reborn as a luxury yacht, the vessel will certainly count as one of the largest superyachts in the world but would have made a fantastic casino vessel.
